Bristol Black Journey

A message from the Mayor… 2017

“I am honoured to have been asked to write a few words to introduce this year’s Black History Month Magazine. The diverse programme captures the essence of Black History Month where we acknowledge the rich contributions made by members of the Black African and Asian communities here in Bristol past, present and future. It’s an opportunity for everyone regardless of who you are to get involved and help shape the future of our city.

I’m excited at the prospect of an interactive resource as we working in partnership with Cognitive Paths to provide year-round information on community interests.”

Cleo Lake Lord Mayor 2018

“Black History is, of course, British and world history and is relevant to all of us and so I do hope that as many people as possible get involved with the numerous opportunities to learn, connect and enjoy.”
