Buy Social West Of England
About the programme
Managing Director of Cognitive Paths, Sibusiso, is currently working with Black South West Network to deliver the Buy Social – Local Expansion programme in the West of England and North Somerset.
The Buy Social West of England project will support large public and private sector organisations to develop accessible processes that enable SME’s and Social Enterprise to win tenders.
From the beginning, Cognitive Paths has aimed to create substantial opportunities for minority-owned small and medium enterprises to have a positive impact on socio-economic growth through greater integration into public procurement. Therefore the opportunity for our Managing Director and Founder to lead on this project is an excellent first step towards greater economic and skills development opportunities for minority-led enterprises and for the region as a whole.
Find out more about the programme on the BSWN website, and contact Sibusiso on outreach@bswn.org.uk.

Buy Social
By using consumer purchasing power, individuals and organisations can adapt their spending to grow the social economy. Sibusiso is working to expand the directory of social enterprises in the local area, to bring a larger cohort of enterprises to the fore of local spending.
The Buy Social Corporate Challenge encourages private sector companies to support the social sector in their supply chains. Through awarding even a small percentage of their contracts to the sector, social enterprises can deliver a huge additional return in terms of social value. Find out more and join the movement – as a social enterprise, corporate, or individual – here.
Social Enterprise Connect Event, June 2019
Following on from a piece of research BSWN did into the BAME Social Enterprise Sector in the South West (Engaging the BAME Social Enterprise Sector in Social Investment, 2018) the event explored key recommendations of how best to support the sector, and how the social economy can benefit from the Bristol and Bath Social Enterprises Place scheme, as led by Social Enterprise UK and School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE).
