One Bristol Curriculum

About The One Bristol Curriculum

The One Bristol Curriculum project sees local arts practitioners and historians working together with schools and teachers to create a curriculum that integrates the full history of Bristol and the UK. The lesson plans and created during this project will be available as a comprehensive online resource for teachers to use to bring alive their subjects and get children to investigate how different African, Caribbean and Asian communities have contributed to knowledge creation, innovation and experience in the UK and beyond.

The subjects that are covered by the current pilots are English, History and Drama, with some elements of cross-curricular material for KS3/4 Citizenship, PSHE and SMSC.

We are looking to work with secondary schools and teachers to cover Maths, Science, Computing, Arts, Humanities, Modern Foreign Languages, Design and Technology, and Physical Education. We are also interested in doing projects in primary schools and a nursery. These commissioned projects draw on local knowledge and expertise in partnership with teachers and academics in order to embed a more complete picture of our city’s history, geography and legacy into the curriculum for children in Bristol.

If you are a teacher or school that would like to get involved with the project please contact education@cognitivepaths.co.uk
